Designing a spa garden for The Grange Spa in Pointon, Lincolnshire has been a true privilege. Set within a beautiful rural landscape and hosted by the wonderfully welcoming Matt and Emma, the project offered an exciting opportunity to create a space that feels both restorative and connected to nature.

The garden is already an open, inviting space. The design builds on this by introducing a range of new spa features, including a sauna, hot tub, outdoor rain shower and a tranquil reflection area - each element positioned to enhance relaxation while making the most of the surrounding views.

The grounds are home to an abundance of wildlife, including muntjac, rabbits and red kites. A key part of the design approach was to respect and preserve this natural environment, balancing dedicated spa spaces with areas left intentionally wild.

The brief also called for a covered outdoor dining space, gentle pathways for walking and exploration and a relaxed outdoor exercise area. A strong emphasis was placed on retaining a soft, grass-led aesthetic to ensure the garden feels calm, natural and in harmony with its setting.

Sustainability sits at the heart of The Grange Spa’s vision, with Matt and Emma working towards becoming one of the UK’s most eco-conscious boutique spas. This commitment has been carefully woven into the design, influencing both materials and the overall approach to the space.

We’ll share updates as the garden begins to take shape.
